We host 4 local group art shows per year and rent out the gallery space to artists that want to fly solo. Please wander through our website and discover all that we have to offer.

2nd Saturdays are for Art Lovers

Every 2nd Saturday of each month, Downtown Escondido transforms into an art lover's dream! With many galleries and shops participating in this neighborhood Art Walk, there's bound to be something for everyone. Most galleries will be hosting receptions/events and keeping their doors open late (please check specific gallery websites for detailed info).

Raven's Nest & The Prism & Pendulum, is always open until 8pm on 2nd Saturdays, regardless if we have an exhibition going on.

Diane Tells His Name

Diane is a Lakota artist who is an Enrolled Tribal Member of the Oglala Sioux Nation, Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She has Native American Dolls accessioned into several private collections and museums including the Smithsonian and the Western History Museum in Los Angeles. Diane’s handmade dolls have been awarded many accolades, exhibited in numerous museums, and she has produced limited editions for sale in museum shops and art galleries across the United States and are popular among both doll and Native Art collectors.

Honors include:

  • Native American Artist’s Showcase, Ottawa Cultural Center in Kansas, Summer 2015.

  • Exhibitions in several Montana and South Dakota museums during Summer 2014.

  • Diane’s original Medallion Woman Doll was exhibited at the San Diego Native Artists Show in April 2005 and accessioned into the Gene Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles.

  • The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian accessioned one of Diane’s earliest creations, Fur Trader’s Granddaughter, in 2010.

  • Two dolls were chosen for the Horse in American Indian Culture Exhibit, May Gallery at the University of San Diego, Spring 2015. Bluebird was accessioned into their permanent collection.

Tania L. Yager

Tania is a visual/performance artist, puppeteer, and Founder, Creative Director, and Lead Fabricator of Twisted Heart Puppetworks. She is educated in dance, performance art, paper craft, traditional shadow puppetry, cinematic shadow theater, tabletop and toy theater, traditional Czech marionettes, and the art of cranky theatre. Over the last 10 years Tania has written and performed over 20 original puppet plays. She is inspired and heavily influenced by fantasy, folklore, and her study of earth-based religions and Shamanism. Tania has worked to educate both children and adults in puppetry arts and has performed in slams across the US. She is also the Founder of The Dark Xmas Market & Wild Hunt of Vista, and Participant in the Krampus America Convention.

Honors include:

  • Winning the 2020 New York Catapult Opera Innovation Award for the collaborative short film project “HANJO”. In

  • In 2021 she founded the international shadow puppetry festival Shadows Across the Globe, bringing together artists from 13 countries.

  • A 2022 resident Fellow at Virginia Center of Creative Arts, she created the miniature shadow puppetry exhibition Tales of Min’Umbra, which consists of three separate dark-winter narratives based on her cultural heritage. This touring show was debuted at The Mini Time Machine Museum in Tucson Arizona in October 2022.

Quill and Yasmin are Hispanic artists and founders of the Cal State San Marcos Art Club.
