Upcoming Art Shows at Raven's Nest Gallery

October: Tell Tale Art

Macabre and gothic literature meets art!

This special Halloween show invites you to interpret the dark, eerie, and often romantic themes from literature such as Edgar Allen Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, Anne Rice, and others. Turn these literary works into art that explores and juxtaposes intense human emotions.

December: Dark Winter Spirits & Yuletide Monsters

Think Krampus!

Anchored by Tania Yager, renowned local artist and puppeteer, this show features artwork inspired by various winter-themed pagan festivals, mythology, and folklore from different cultures. Expect to see depictions of Yule, Saturnalia, Mithraic rituals, and Celtic/Norse beliefs related to the winter solstice and the return of light. The art could also explore themes of winter's harshness, the cycles of nature, and the promise of rebirth in the spring.

Are you an artist who works in an untraditional medium? Maybe you're a crafter? Do you make textile art? Are you a metal sculptor?

THIS SHOW IS FOR YOU!

Elemental Arts + Crafts is a group art show inspired by Nature's elements. Art that explores the intersection of artistic expression with traditional craft techniques while highlighting the role of artists as both creators and storytellers, and that capture the essence of these elements and the human touch of craftsmanship.

This show is for the artists and the crafters! We will be looking for works that are done in both traditional and non-traditional mediums. We want fabric and fiber arts, textiles, glass, ceramics, metals, jewelry, paintings, drawings, digital art, mixed media, clothing, and even installations. Think out of the box!

How do you interpret the four elements (earth, air, fire, and water)?
